Mark Casson

Mark C. Casson est professeur d'économie à l'Université de Reading en Angleterre. C'est un spécialiste de la théorie de l'entrepreneur. Sur une base, que l'on pourrait appeler d'école autrichienne, Mark Casson, définit le talent le plus marquant de l'entrepreneur dans sa capacité à assumer des décisions concernant la coordination des ressources. L'entrepreneur, n'est pas nécessairement celui qui est détenteur du capital (capitaliste) ou qui est propriétaire des biens de production. Le manager- entrepreneur est différent car sa capacité est de percevoir des situations où il est possible de récolter des profits. Il rejoint ainsi la théorie de la découverte des opportunités d'Israel Kirzner.
