George Barclay Richardson est un économiste qui a été influencé par l'enseignement de Friedrich Hayek. Ses travaux sur la firme sont un mélange des apports de l'école autrichienne et des travaux d'Alfred Marshall dans l'organisation industrielle.

Il s'intéresse notamment comment la coordination peut s'établlir dans une économie de marché décentralisée. Il est à la base de la réflexion de certains économistes qui présentent la théorie autrichienne de la firme.
