Justin Raimondo (18 novembre 1951-27 juin 2019) était un auteur libertarien paléoconservateur, et le directeur du site antiwar.com. Il participait à de nombreux projets, depuis sa résidence de San Francisco.

Ses idées

Militant infatigable du non-interventionnisme militaire américain, il dénonce sans faiblir sur son site les ennemis des valeurs de liberté, fondatrices de la république américaine. A cet égard, les néoconservateurs, dont l'héritage intellectuel marxiste et le goût pour la violence guerrière sont notoires, figurent parmi ses cibles de choix. D'après Raimondo, les néocons, tout à leur volonté d'exporter la démocratie comme Trotsky aspirait à une révolution mondiale permanente, ont trahi le message des Pères fondateurs à l'origine de la nation américaine. C'est pourquoi il n'hésite pas à voir en ces trotskistes mal dégrossis les « anti-américains » les plus dangereux. Ce virage étatiste de la droite américaine a d'ailleurs été fustigé dans son essai Reclaiming the American Right: The Lost Legacy of the Conservative Movement (1993), dont un chapitre est disponible ici.

En plus de ses écrits pamphlétaires, Raimondo s'est distingué par une biographie de Murray Rothbard, parue en 2000.
