Solomon Stein est chercheur pour le programme "F. A Hayek" pour l'étude avancée en philosophie, en politique et en économie. Il a obtenu son doctorat en économie de l'Université George Mason en 2015 et il est un ancien étudiant du programme de recherches doctorales du centre Mercatus.
Son travail se concentre sur l'histoire de la pensée économique, en particulier sur le développement de la tradition du processus du marché contemporain. Parallèlement à ce travail, il participe aux regroupement des collections et des archives spéciales de la bibliothèque de l'Université George Mason afin de recueillir les documents de James M. Buchanan.
