Benjamin Klein, né en 1943 à New York, est un économiste américain, professeur émérite à UCLA où il a enseigné l'économie à partir de 1968. Il s'est intéressé à une approche concurrentielle du système monétaire et à la théorie de l'intégration verticale. Il s'est également intéressé en profondeur aux sujets liés à l'antitrust.
Il est titulaire d'un PhD en économie obtenu à l'université de Chicago en 1970, d'un M.A. de la même université (1966) et d'un B.A. de la City University of New York (1964). Outre UCLA, il a également enseigné à l'Université de Washington et à la faculté de droit de l'université de Chicago, ainsi qu'occupé des postes au sein du National Bureau of Economic Research.
