Laurence S. Moss, quelquefois orthographié, Lawrence S. Moss est né le 13 novembre 1944 à New York City. Il est décédé le 24 février 2009.
Il a assisté aux séminaires de Ludwig von Mises entre 1963 et 1965 à l'université de New York. Il a obtenu un B.A. (1965) et un M.A. (1967) en économie au Queens College du City University de New York. Il a également obtenu son M.A et son PHD en économie à l'université de Columbia, dans l'État de New YorK.
Avant d'enseigner à l'université de Babson, il était à l'université de Virginie et à l'université de Tufts. Il est proche de l'école autrichienne, il a d'ailleurs participé à la Conférence de South Royalton. C'est un spécialiste de l'histoire économique.
