David Audretsch

David Bruce Audretsch, né le 15 novembre 1954, est un économiste américain, spécialiste des recherches sur l'entrepreneuriat. Il est diplômé (B.A.) de l'Université Drew en 1976, puis il a obtenu son Master (M.S) et son doctorat en économie à l'Université du Wisconsin-Madison, respectivement en 1979 et en 1980.

Il est un professeur distingué à l'École des affaires publiques et environnementales (SPEA) de l'Université d'Indiana, président du développement économique d'Ameritech et directeur de l'Institut des stratégies de développement (IDS). Il est également le co-fondateur et co-éditeur de la revue universitaire "Small Business Economics: An Entrepreneurship Journal". Il a été Directeur du Groupe de l'Entrepreneuriat, de la Croissance et de la Politique Publique au sein du Max Planck Institute of Economics en Allemagne de 2003 à 2009.

David Audretsch a reçu des doctorats honorifiques de l'Université Jonköping en Suède et de l'Université d'Augsbourg en Allemagne. Il est professeur honoraire d'économie industrielle et d'entrepreneuriat à la WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management en Allemagne. En outre, David Audretsch est professeur invité à l'Université King Saud en Arabie Saoudite, professeur honoraire à l'Université de Jena, en Allemagne, et il est chercheur du Centre for Economic Policy Research à Londres. Il a reçu le Prix Schumpeter 2011 de l'Université de Wuppertal et le Prix mondial pour la recherche en entrepreneuriat, en 2001, par la Fondation suédoise pour la recherche dans les petites entreprises.

Ses recherches portent sur les liens entre l'esprit d'entreprise, la politique gouvernementale, l'innovation, le développement économique et la compétitivité mondiale.
