Stefan Voigt est professeur de politique économique à l'université de Kassel en Allemagne. Il est l'auteur, en 1999, Explication du changement constitutionnel - Une approche économique positive.
Il a publié de nombreux articles dans des revues scientifiques de renom comme Kyklos, Public Choice, the International Review of Law and Economics, European Journal of Political Economy. Il fait partie, également, du conseil éditorial de Constitutional Political Economy, de Review of Austrian Economics, du Journal des Economistes et des Etudes Humaines et de Schmollers Jahrbuch. Parmi ses thèmes de recherche figurent en bonne position l'analyse économique des institutions et particulièrement l'économie de la transition.
