Adam G. Martin poursuit des études post-doctorales, depuis 2009 à l'université de New York, au "Development Research Institute" (DRI). Il a obtenu son premier diplôme universitaire (BA en économie avec un honorification : magna cum laude) en 2004 à l'université de Dallas. Il a obtenu un Master en économie, en 2007, à l'université George Mason, puis un Ph.D. en 2009 avec une thèse dirigée par Peter J. Boettke.
Ses domaines de recherche préférés concernent l'économie politique comparée, l'économie du développement, l'épistémologie réaliste, l'école des choix publics, l'école autrichienne d'économie, l'économie constitutionnelle, l'analyse économique des institutions et l'histoire de la pensée économique et politique.
