Roger Congleton

Roger D. Congleton, né le 13 novembre 1951, est un économiste américain. Il enseigne à la West Virginia University et est rédacteur en chef adjoint de la revue académique Constitutional Political Economy.

Biographie

Il étudie au Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, où il a obtenu son diplôme universitaire, sa maîtrise et son doctorat en économie. Il soutient sa thèse en 1978, “The Role of Information in Choice", sous la direction de James M. Buchanan, à la Virginia Polytechnic University and State University.

Depuis 2011, il est le Professeur BB&T d'Économie à l'Université de Virginie-Occidentale. Il occupe également le rôle de co-rédacteur en chef de Constitutional Political Economy depuis 2013, où il joue un rôle clé dans la formation des débats sur l'intersection entre la politique et l'économie. Depuis 2011, il est également chercheur associé au Center for the Study of Public Choice,.

Avant de rejoindre l'Université de Virginie-Occidentale, il a été professeur d'économie à l'Université George Mason de 1995 à 2011. Il enseigna également à l'Université de Muenster en Allemagne, fut chercheur invité à l'Institut Max Planck d'économie évolutive à Jena en Allemagne, et professeur invité d'économie à l'Université Bar Ilan à Tel Aviv, en Israë. Il a bénéficié d'une bourse Fulbright en études américaines à Odense, au Danemark, et a été professeur Adam Smith en économie et philosophie à l'Université de Bayreuth en Allemagne.
