GR Steele ou Gerry Steele Ou Gerald Steele est professeur d'économie à l'université de Lancaster (Grande Bretagne). Ses domaine d'intérêt portent sur la philosophie politique et l'économie de Friedrich Hayek avec l'apport de ce dernier dans la théorie des fluctuations économiques. Il s'est également intéressé à la méthodologie en sciences sociales en s'interrogeant de la pertinence de l'introduction du darwinisme.
En s'appuyant sur le Prix Nobel d'économie de 1974, GR Steele remet en évidence la conclusion de Friedrich Hayek. La science économique ne doit pas se fourvoyer dans la présomption scientifique de formuler des relations significatives entre des agrégats et des moyennes. En 1988, il avait déjà écrit un article condamnant l'enseignement de l'économie portant uniquement sur la macroéconomie aux dépends de la microéconomie.
