Robert J. Batemarco est vice-président dans une société de recherche en marketing spécialisée dans l'industrie pharmaceutique. Auparavant, il était dans la même société directeur d'analyse. Il enseigne l'économie à l'université de Pace à New York après avoir enseigné à Marymount College à Tarrytown, toujours dans l'État de New York.
C'est un économiste affilié à l'école autrichienne d'économie. En 1995, il écrit un article dans le revue The Freeman afin d'expliquer pourquoi les USA devrait revenir à un système monétaire reposant sur l'étalon or.
