Arthur A. Shenfield (1909-1990), économiste britannique, auteur et avocat, fut professeur d'économie à l'université de Californie. Il passe ses derniers jours à Old Windsor, Berkshire en Angleterre.
Il fut président de la société du Mont-Pèlerin de 1972 à 1974, succédant à Milton Friedman et cédant sa place à Gaston Leduc.
Il était critique des lois antitrusts. Il était plus que dubitatif sur la possibilité des organismes bureaucratiques à faire mieux que le marché et pour faire vivre la concurrence. Il aimait à répéter la formule d'Henri Lepage « ne tuons pas la concurrence au nom de la concurrence ! ».
